Kri Eco Resort

Picture
consists of traditional buildings over the water, along a jetty and offers traditional Papuan accommodation with excellent food and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Kri Eco resort is consequently built by Papuan villagers and many of the former builders are now part of our permanent team. The resort is truly part of nature and every morning guests are awoken by an orchestra of birds. Six comfortable twin-room bungalows are perched high on wooden stilts over a shallow coral encrusted reef flat next to a long palm lined, fine white-sand beach.

Because of the construction, you have a cool sea breeze flowing through and great panoramic views of the surrounding area – so even from your bed you can hear the sound of the sea! Some bungalows are located on the jetty itself, while the other buildings have their own piers from the beach. All of them are traditionally built with local materials such as round wood, bamboo, and leaves of palm trees all lashed together with vines from the jungle. All buildings contain two rooms and at least one separate sitting area with locally made bamboo table, benches and hammocks. Each bungalow has a single or double bed with luxurious mosquito nets, mirror, drinking water and electric fan. Soap, tissues and fresh towels are provided (even handmade hangers for your clothes!). Your bungalow is fully serviced on a daily basis, and the linen is changed on a regular basis.
