Campus Recreation

In the university setting, where stress and deadlines are a daily occurrence, recreation opportunities provide a positive outlet for students, faculty and staff to practice healthy lifestyle choices. Our friendly student staff are on-hand to assist patrons on using our machinery and to answer questions about healthy practices.

Fitness Room and Hub CourtroomIntramural and Club Sports

Campus Recreation offers two locations for students to workout and play. Our fitness room contains two main areas; one contains all of the free weights and the other area has cardiovascular equipment as well as Nautilus equipment. The free weight area has a complete set of dumbells from five pounds to one hundred twenty-five pounds as well as a variety of free weight equipment. The other side has five treadmills, two elliptical machines, two lateral elliptical machines, five expresso bikes and more than twelve Nautilus upper body and lower body strength training machines. The aerobic studio is available for users when fitness classes are not in session.

The HUB Courtroom has two full-sized basketball courts which are available for free use by students and are also used by club sports such as basketball and floor hockey. It also offers a complete selection of cardiovascular equipment. This selection includes Life Fitness Treadmills, Precor and Octane elliptical, upright bikes, recumbent bikes and Tectrix Climbmax.

Intramural sports offer students the opportunity to play the sports they love or want to try in a fun and friendly atmosphere. We offer competitive and recreational leagues for the majority of our sports, many tournaments, and host special events including playoff and championship games.

PSU uses IM Leagues to manage intramural sports clubs, so that teams can manage and communicate with their members easily, schedules can be posted and shared, and students can easily see all the different intramural sports that are offered on campus.
